Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation, and a pinch of creativity. The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails. Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.

If you don't create change, change will create you. Change starts when someone sees the next step and the first step toward change is awareness. The second step is acceptance. Many fine things can be done in a day if you don't always make that day tomorrow. You see, in life, lots of people know what to do, but few people actually do what they know. Knowing is not enough! You must take action.

Sometimes it's the smallest decisions with larger aims that can change the lives of many. If our attempts can at least become a spark. We are really grateful and the TEAM can proudly proclaim ‘MISSION ACCOMPLISHED’.

If you can LEND A HELPING HAND for the advancement of our country and its people be part of our ENDEAVOR.

AKHSHAYAPATHRA – RADIANT PLAN

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

A WOMEN HEADED RAPID RAILWAY TASK FORCE—

If you have been to any railway station in India at least once you can sense the amount of humiliation many women have to face every day, right from the platform to the train. Within the railway station limit numerous women are often victims of humiliation and abasement either by unwanted staring, sexually coloured comments and remarks, through vulgar and immoral gestures which are nothing less than sexual assault. Many of them are simply not reported.

TEAM AKHSHAYAPATHRA is simply suggesting a RADIANT PLAN on the wake of a ghastly incident.
·
Create women headed Railway Task Force in almost all the prominent railway stations in the state according the extent of Railway traffic and no of expected passengers.
·
* It can be a good volunteer pool with multifarious charges and duties within the ambit of the railway station. They can render their service on a 24 × 7 mode.
·
This task force can be headed by a woman and can include some men for ground level support. The group can cover different platforms with a proper frame and simultaneous effects.
·
Every platform will have a sub group members of the Task Force engaged in continuous patrolling.

·          such a taskforce can handle many small but serious issues with seriousness and precision.
·
Women passengers inside the station can communicate directly to these people in case of a problem.
·
The whole force should be coordinated by the Railway Police.
·
Women passengers who are waiting in the odd night and early morning hours can feel secure by the proper invigilation and security measures.
·
They should keep a close vigil on the ladies compartment whenever a train is stationed at a platform.
·
This team can work on a shift basis and their working can be periodically reviewed and monitored through camouflage evaluations of Railway officials.
·          The force should be assigned a toll free no: for contact and that should be displayed in all important parts of the station and inside the train. (inside all the trains you have innumerable promotions of new movies. We can simply cut down those spaces for providing such contact numbers)
·
Above all this can become a job creating Endeavour. Thousands of people can gain employment through this and can gain a handsome amount as salary.

  1. Gud one......The incident has really shaken the conscience of right-minded people. Somehow our government and law-makers do not find rape a horrific crime and rapists (if at all proved) spend behind the bars for abt 8-10 years and start another lease of life. While the family of victims suffer some form of stigma throughout their lives.. We should borrow the kind of punishment that is executed in Arab countries for this crime...Why dont u give all these suggestions to the leading dailies?

  2. The squad is a good idea..but how far will it work.In that case we have a police force and the railway police too.And eve-teasing happens everywhere..spread awareness is the best thing to do..most of the gals dont know that if a guy comments u,u can complaint in the police station.

Again, what is the need of ladies compartment.I bet its not as safe as a general compartment.I being a female, avoid a ladies compartment coz theft, robbery happens there the most!and it is the last place a female can be aft 9 PM and before 6 AM.No male is gonna eat a woman alive if u sit near him, even if one tries to offend u,there shall be another to defend u...then y take the risk of a ladies compartment! And doesnt men with wrong intentions enter a half empty or empty ladies compartment? Many a times it happens..and how many women react? One or may be none! And all u get is a few extra exclusive seats in exchange of safety. In that case, the compartment should be banned to be on the safer side.

After all, Safety comes first and luxury later!

  3. Yes we have a police force as well as a railway police. What is the need of all of them without any coordination and without due ‘connection’? Taking into account all this, the forces are headed by different officials and they depute people according to their wish and fancy. A proper coordination only occurs when there is a threat or a calamity. Let all these forces work in tandem with an established connection. Let the task force report directly to the Railway police and in case of any problem let them come to the scene quickly. In case of a problem of greater magnitude let them report to the police force. But the responsibility of such task force should be shared by the Police officer above the rank of Circle Inspector under the vigilance of Superintendent of police or the commissioner, who should depute some officers for surprise reviews.
After a humiliation how many women will leave the train and cancel their journey to lodge complaints in the police stations? This task force will be able to deal such issues quickly within a small span of a time with precision. Rests of the measures are definitely measures and they are tougher options. What we need is ground friendly options so it can gain popularity and confidence of the people. We cannot compare the railways of other countries as the features are different, volume, services standards etc. such measures of the task force should strengthen the belief of the women passengers.----------------------

Most important Aim of the TASK FORCE------- A trend should emerge and should be clearly visible that harming and trying to assault a woman in a railway station and a train is impossible. Such a feeling should emanate from the ground. The stringency and the rapid action of the task force should send this strong message. The officials should ensure this after every review.

  4. So in such cases of deficits if we initiate changes in the administrative levels it will work and we can finally pressurize changes, which the people will definitely take forward. I believe the impacts will b gr8.
That may create some path breaking changes, something will change. Changes may trickle down or it can b made to trickle down---Chanakya’s old Rajathanthram REVISITED----.

I believe we should keep trying..

  5. @deepaji: definitely we are planning to give it to the dailies and that's step further and before that we would like to make it a socio plan and we need to debate it and find the pros and cons and add the emerging changes significantly if they are feasible.
then i can send this to official platforms through proper channels.

  6. Karnataka had successfully implemented a similar plan for empowering women for the sake of their own security. Their Public Roadways are filled with women employees(Drivers and conductors)which make extremely difficult for all eve-teasers and anti-social elements to come out of their rabbit-hole.
    Way to Go, Kerala.
